Acerbis takes part in the Lake Como Design Festival 2026 as part of Fine Comune, the project presented by Lobby Nomade in the spaces of the former Church of Santa Caterina in Como, with creative direction by Ultrapresent Studio. The installation explores the concept of the boundary as a place of encounter and exchange, drawing on the original meaning of the Latin term con-finis: not a barrier, but a shared boundary, the point where different realities come into relation.

Inspired by the temporary places created by nomadic cultures to transform any space into a welcoming environment, Fine Comune reinterprets the seventeenth-century architecture through a contemporary, open and shared dimension, where space becomes an opportunity for encounter.

Within this setting, Free System becomes an integral part of the experience: an informal, collective presence that invites conviviality and dialogue. Designed by Claudio Salocchi in 1973, the system stems from an idea of space that is free and fluid, in which modules can be placed alongside one another and combined without predetermined hierarchies. An approach that resonates with the spirit of Fine Comune: open and capable of moving beyond conventional configurations to shape new ways of living and being together.

Fine Comune is presented by Lobby Nomade, a project by Nomade Real Estate, with creative direction by Ultrapresent Studio, in collaboration with Lia Rumma, Acerbis, cc-tapis and Movimento Gallery.
