At the mdf italia and Acerbis headquarters, Enrico Acerbis, the fourth generation of the family, and Marco Cassina, Head of Marketing & Communication, retrace the evolution of the brand.

Starting from the origins of Acerbis, the conversation moves through the brand’s evolution and leads into the research and reinterpretation of its archive undertaken in recent years. This work has brought to light drawings and design concepts that continue to stand out for their expressive power and contemporary relevance.

This process also opened up a broader perspective: moving beyond the boundaries of the Acerbis archive to explore the work of designers who contributed to the history of Italian design, but whose projects have remained less widely known.

This new direction began with the re-edition of Free System and continued through a broader exploration of Claudio Salocchi’s archive, bringing to light further projects that still convey the experimental spirit and enduring relevance of his work.

Among them is Palla, selected not only for its distinctive formal identity, but also for the strong affinity between Salocchi’s research and that of Acerbis: an exploration of materials, a focus on functionality, and an approach to design capable of moving beyond the conventions of its time.
