The meeting between Lodovico Acerbis and Giotto Stoppino marks one of the most important historical moments for both the company and the design industry: an unusual form of collaboration where the designer’s vast professional experience merges with that of the entrepreneur.
Acerbis carries on the Remasters programme by putting three iconic examples of 1970s Italian design back in production.
The research by the artistic direction expands beyond the company archives to rediscover past designs that prove stunningly modern.
The stand at the Salone del Mobile features three different scenarios of contemporary living, where items from the Remasters collection are placed side by side with Nanda Vigo’s iconic Due Più seat and with two 1970s creations by Claudio Salocchi: Free System, a system of padded furniture resulting from the concept of “operated flooring”, or tatami, and Napoleone, a coffee table featuring an intriguing interplay of mirrors and reflections.
The journey continues at the Fuorisalone at Spotti, the historic Milan showroom and international benchmark for furniture, with the installation “Nanda Vigo & Claudio Salocchi – a Milanese Utopia”.
